(Matthew 1:23) We fear, “What will the doctor’s test reveal?” “Will I get the job—did I make a good impression?” “Will he or she leave me?” The unknown is not only the valley, but it’s what happens after the valley, the future, what’s next, etc… “Will I be okay?” “How can I deal with this?” The unknown sometimes drives us to fear. This word can also be translated to dwell, to take up residence or to live within. Until I began seriously studying the Bible and meditating on God’s Word some years back, I did not know how much my faith could have on my life and the lives of others. In Matthew 9:29 NASB Jesus says, "It shall be done to you according to your faith." We do not have to become victim to our circumstances, when we can have faith in our God who is able to do anything! No problem is too hard for God to solve, no valley is too low God can’t raise, no mountain is too high God can’t lower, no rough place is too rough God can’t make smooth! (Jeremiah 32:27, Isaiah 40:4-5) God is able to cause change with a single spoken word and He is able to handle our most pressing concerns and troubles. (Deuteronomy 31:8) In Exodus 13:21 ISV, The LORD went before the Children of Israel by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel both day and night. During moments of loneliness, sickness and difficulty, satan tries to fill our minds with thoughts of anxiety, hopelessness and defeat. Whenever satan comes in all directions against us, we’re to lift up our shield of faith, destroying every argument that sets itself up against the knowledge of God’s Word.
