If we ever wondered how we should treat others, this scripture teaches us the answer as to how we are to treat others. But unfortunately, it is teaching that many of us have failed to follow so often in our lives. Notice Jesus’ teaching doesn't say to treat others like they treat us. However, this is often the standard we use in how we treat others: Someone wrongs us, so we find a way to get back at them. Someone threatens to hurt us in some way, so we threaten them in the same way. All of this comes from a failure to grow spiritually due to lack of knowledge of God's word and as a result, a lack of love for God and our fellow man. (Genesis 22:14) Sometimes when we’re overwhelmed by a “difficult situation” we want God to carry out His plans on time. But, the reality of God’s wisdom reveals the difference between our thoughts and His and our concept of the “right time” and His “appointed time.” The scripture teaches us in Isaiah 40:31, “they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength” suggests that a Christian should be willing to allow God to decide the terms, because God provides at just the right time.
