In Lamentations 3, mercy means undeserved or unmerited favor—GRACE! It’s easy to identify the visible places God has graced us, but it’s not so easy to see when our view is limited or when a season of difficulty comes. (Hebrews 11:1) Part of the reason God has given His children grace, is so He can continually provide life experiences to stretch us, so we can receive more grace and continue growing in Him! Whether we know it as “you’re going to reap what you sow,” “what goes around comes around” or “do to others what you would like them to do to you,” we will live with the consequences of the choices we make. (Matthew 7:12) While the earth remains, whatever you deposit is going to be returned to you. (Genesis 8:22) If you sow criticism in life, you are going to reap criticism from other people. If you sow encouragement, you're going to reap encouragement. If you plant pear seeds, you don't get peaches; you get pears. In Exodus 14, the children of Israel faced the Red Sea with nowhere to go. In our very own lives we too will have Red Sea moments, where we feel stuck and defeated with nowhere to go. What we may see as immobile and defeat, God sees as a moment to stretch our faith and bring great deliverance! (Isaiah 54:2-3) When we trust God totally through difficulty, it affirms our faith, maximizes the power of God and the gifts we never knew we had within us. Your Vision Hurries Toward Its Goal! It won't be a lie. If it's delayed, wait for it. It will certainly happen. It Won't Be Late! (Habakkuk 2:3 GWT) Ecclesiastes 5:3 teaches, “A dream comes with much business and painful effort.” In pursuit of your dreams, you can expect un-comfortability and you may experience pain or delay. Hurt, before healing, financial difficulty, before abundance, loneliness, before becoming happily married, renting longer than expected, before owning your own home, however faithfulness starts small. (Matthew 25:21) Just because circumstances aren’t exactly as you desire them to be at this moment or everything hasn’t unfolded as you would have desired—doesn’t mean God Almighty isn’t able to reach down and work through broken and imperfect vessels like us!
