Count It All Joy!
James 1:4 ESV teaches to “Count it all joy, when you meet trials of
various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces
steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be
perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” Steadfastness means to be committed,
dedicated, persistent, loyal and faithful. All of which should be common in the
life of a believer, which produces perfection and completion. Let me explain, because
of course there will always be critics, that say, “no one is perfect.” Critics who
are also known as opponents, enemies, faultfinders, etc.—must see Christ in you.
Perfect in this scripture means “mature.” Being joyful and endurance of trials produces
followers of Jesus who are spiritually “grown up.” Those who know you best will
still recognize that you are fully human and capable of various shortcomings
and sins; however they will also witness the work God is doing in your life. Completion
doesn’t mean you’ve “arrived,” but it means you have all you need in you for
continued growth. Lacking in nothing means having everything you need to do
everything God wants you to do. Every trial you face is allowed by God for your
ultimate good and His glory. (Romans 8:28) I encourage you to be joyful no
matter what you’re facing, be not weary in well doing; you will reap a harvest
if you don’t give up—God promises to give you everything you could ever need
and more!
“When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in
rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard
place, it won’t be a dead end—because I am God, the Holy one of Israel, your
Savior” (Isaiah 43:2 MSG) ~ God
Pray This Prayer With Me: LORD, I know I don’t thank You enough for
the trials You allow in my life, but I thank You and know my most difficult
trials have made me stronger, wiser, better and they matured me. Please continue to teach me that what I need
for tomorrow and the rest of life is what You are providing through today’s
trial. I humbly pray, in Jesus' name, amen.
Have a great day! Never forget, in all circumstances, God loves you and you are
extremely valuable and important in God’s eyes! In His service, Jacob...
