The Humble Will Be Exalted! (Luke 14:11)
If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re
going to end up flat on your face. But if you’re content to be simply yourself,
you will become more than yourself! (Luke 14:11 MSG)
The message is simple: God loves to lift the humbled to greater things, but He has no problem bringing down the proud. You can have God’s supernatural power flowing through you to accomplish His will through you or you can have God’s power hindering you and stopping you from accomplishing your agenda in life. A proud person is independent, self-sufficient, self-seeking and self-exalted and that person is certain to face resistance from God in life. A humble person relies on God for strength, direction and wisdom and considers the needs of others even before their own. A humble person also realizes that God’s plan must be followed and that their own plan falls short of God’s glorious plan. Jesus Christ displayed humility when He lowered Himself and took on the form of a servant. (Philippians 2:7) Jesus’ obedience to the Father’s will and commands allowed Him to have the greatest influence possible and the highest place of honor in heaven. (Acts 2:33) Embrace the truth that God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble and humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time He may exalt you! (1 Peter 5:5-6 ISV)
God’s Word To You: “Whoever honors himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be honored!” (Matthew 23:12)
Pray this prayer with me: Father, according to Your will, I desire a heart that pleases You and a life that gives You glory. Today I surrender my thoughts, dreams, ideas and desires to You, so You may receive the glory, honor and praise. I humbly pray, in Jesus' name, amen. Have a great day and a great week! Never forget, in all circumstances, God loves you and you are extremely valuable and important in God’s eyes! In His service, Jacob...
