In Lamentations 3, mercy means undeserved or unmerited favor—GRACE! It’s easy to identify the visible places God has graced us, but it’s not so easy to see when our view is limited or when a season of difficulty comes. (Hebrews 11:1) Part of the reason God has given His children grace, is so He can continually provide life experiences to stretch us, so we can receive more grace and continue growing in Him! In Exodus 14, the children of Israel faced the Red Sea with nowhere to go. In our very own lives we too will have Red Sea moments, where we feel stuck and defeated with nowhere to go. What we may see as immobile and defeat, God sees as a moment to stretch our faith and bring great deliverance! Test and trials in the life of a Christian is not a wasted experience. Times of testing prove the realness of our faith in Christ. As you start moving in the direction God has purposed, satan will do everything he can to stop you from fulfilling God’s purpose. If you never bump into the devil, you both may be headed in the same direction. Your path may get uncomfortable at times and cause doubt. It can and does happen to us all, but you've got to know how to handle it when it comes. The moment you feel doubt, turn to God’s Word and trust Him more. The Word of God and prayer are the tools the Holy Spirit uses to comfort and give us direction.
