Our life is better off placed in the hands of God than any other hand any day. In life we encounter situations that we must choose whether or not to rely on the beliefs and words of humanity and limited natural abilities or will we believe in the supernatural power and Word of God? Two important scriptures that have great influences on our decision: In Isaiah 55:11 GWT God speaks, “My word, which comes from My mouth, is like the rain and snow. It will not come back to Me without results. It will accomplish whatever I want and achieve whatever I send it to do." This scripture is both instructional and wisdom, God lifts those who are humble to greater things; however, God has no problem bringing down the proud. A proud person is self-seeking and self-exalted and that person is certain to face resistance from God. (Isaiah 14:12-14) A humble person relies on God for strength, direction and wisdom and considers the needs of others even before their own. The KJV reads, “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.” Instead of Christ leaving us independent of His future assistance, Christ’s one purpose is to bring us into such dependence on Him that we’re not able to do without Him for one single moment. As long as we wait expecting Christ to perform single, occasional acts of grace for us from heaven, trusting Him each time to give us something that will last a little while, we cannot be fully matured. When we come to recognize this truth, how we’re not just waiting on the LORD for a single moment to gain strength and health, but we trust Him with our whole life, Christ becomes our strength for our walk, because Christ is now the strength of our lives!
